Magazine Ideas

Makeup Products

Male- I think that the only suitable makeup products for a male model would be eyeliner. As my magazine revolves around the rock/indie music genre, I think it would be appropiate for the male model to wear eyeliner. Often, male eyeliner (or guyliner) associates with the rock/indie music genre.

Female

Makeup products for a female is more obvious. A lot of female models that are featured on front covers often wear eyeliner, mascara, lipstick.etc. They would also wear costumes that fit in witth whatever genre of music the magazine is.

Colour Schemes and Fonts

 The main colour scheme for my magazine is red and grey. Of course, there are other colours featured but red and grey are the two colours that will dominate the rest of my magazine. I have chosen those colours specifically because, I have taken inspiation from NME and Q magazines which I have decided to base my own magazine on.

I have also experimented with different font sizes and I have come to the conclusion that the best font size for a masthead would range from size 44-66. Any font size bigger than size 66 wouldn't allow anything else to be featured on the front cover.

I think that the most suitable font size for an article would range from size 18-24. That would be because, there would be more space for more information to be added because, the text would be small enough. However, the text would still be big enough for the target audience to read as well.
